Alrighty,,,this week's show will feature new music from some big dudes, and soon to be big dudes, in the Texas/Red Dirt scene. First, the brand new single from Honeybrowne, "Mile By Mile". Third, we've got a new single called, "Teardrop Texas", from a band called Leavin' Sundown. The band is fronted by former Perfect Stranger lead singer, Steve Murray. The band also has a couple of very good friends of mine, Jimmy Taylor, and Mike Ward. We all worked at a very well known little honky tonk in east Texas called, Jitterbugs. Interesting fact...Jimmy produced and engineered Willie's album Nacogdoches, and also owns his very own recording studio in said town. He's been playing bass guitar for years and can't seem to be able to keep his hands off his lovely wife....I think they have about 12 children (slight exageration). Way ta go Jimmy! Mike Ward worked as stage manager/monitor engineer/guitar tech for former Columbia Records band, Ricochet. For a while there Mike was also unable to keep his hands off the women,,but now at least he's only keeping them on one. You dawg! Welcome!
First, let me introduce myself. I'm Steve Rixx, and I'm the host of the Texas Roadhouse show on 100.3 KILT, in Houston Texas. It's nothin' but Texas/Red Dirt music every Saturday night from 10-Midnight. This site was created so that we would have a place to talk about OKOM (that stands for "Our Kind Of Music"...for those who didn't know) and to give you information about who, and what, was going to be on the show from week to week. I'll put video,,pictures,,concert information,,and anything else I can think of, on this site, for you so that you can keep up with the entire Texas/Red Dirt music scene. Don't be shy about commenting on ANYTHING about the show or me. I'll do my best to answer any questions that you throw at me too.
